IoSR Privacy Notice: Message Board

The message board is provided to facilitate communication between staff, students and alumni. It is accessible only to registered users in those categories. Two types of data are stored:

messages posted by users; and
profile data entered by users.

Two types of externally sourced data are commonly posted in messages:

recording opportunities notified to IoSR staff or students by email; and
job advertisements notified to IoSR staff or students by email or made publicly available elsewhere online.

Storage Period

Every 30 days, posted messages more than one year old are deleted automatically unless flagged as 'sticky' or posted in the 'archive' category, in which case they are kept indefinitely. Profile data are kept as long as the associated user account is active.

Automation

Message board users can opt to be automatically notified of certain board activities by setting their preferences accordingly.
