Information relating to scholarships and bursaries that might be available to Tonmeister students can be found here.

Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) Prizes

These prizes are awarded annually to students studying on the Tonmeister programme.

• The AMS-Neve Portfolio Prize
  Award for the most outstanding Portfolio submitted by Level 6 students in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), as judged by the examiners. Prize: £200.
• The BMP Location Recording Prize
  Awarded for the most outstanding location recording in a portfolio submitted by a Level 5 student in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), as shortlisted by the examiners and judged by BMP The Sound Recording Company Ltd. Prize: £150.
• The Dave Fisher Classical Recording Prize
  Award for the most outstanding classical music recording on a Portfolio submitted by Level 6 students in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), as judged by the examiners. Prize: £150.
• The Focusrite Prize for Technical Achievement
  Award for the most outstanding Technical Project submitted by Level 6 students in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), as judged by the examiners.
• The James Whitworth Award
  Award for the best recording of a student's own composition on a final year recording portfolio. Award: £250.
• The Jim Abbiss Pop Recording Prize
  Award for the most outstanding pop music recording on a Portfolio submitted by Level 6 students in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), as judged by the examiners and Jim Abbiss. Prize: £150.
• The Richard Giles Prize
  Award for the most improvement from Level 4 to Level 5 of the programme. Prize: £100.
• The Rupert Flindt Recording Prize
  Award for the most outstanding recording not eligible for other prizes on a Portfolio submitted by Level 6 students in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister), as judged by the examiners. Prize: £150.
• The Woodleyside Tonmeister of the Year Prize
  Awarded to Level 6 student who contributed most to the programme and department, as nominated by Tonmeister students and judged by Tonmeister teaching staff. Prize: £150.

Music Prizes

These prizes are awarded annually to students studying on the Department's Music programmes including the Tonmeister programme.

• The Ableton Prize for Composition
  For excellence in a computer-based musical composition submitted by a final-year undergraduate student. Prize: latest version of the software - Ableton Live Suite.
• The Ableton Prize for Live Performance
  An award given by the German music software company Ableton to celebrate excellence in computer-based live musical performance. It is awarded to the student giving the best final-year undergraduate live computer-based musical performance as judged by Music staff. Prize: latest version of the software - Ableton Live Suite.
• The David Lovatt Music Composition Prize
  A prize of £500 to be awarded for submitting the best final year undergraduate composition folio.
• The Graham Smith Memorial Prize
  Awarded to the student submitting the best final-year undergraduate composition folio. Prize: £150.
• The Joyce Dixey Award
  An award of £200 given by the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society in memory of the late Miss Joyce Dixey who was the Society's Secretary and General Manager, open to all students in Music and Sound Recording except those registered for PhD by Composition. It is awarded to the composer of the most impressive musical composition as judged in performance.
