Project Outline

Immersive technologies represent a new frontier for content creation, consumption, and communication. However, capture, synthesis, and delivery of high-quality immersive audio experiences to multiple listeners in a shared space is hindered by long-standing fundamental scientific and implementation challenges. CIAT develops theoretical underpinning and experimental validation of a novel comprehensive framework for perceptually optimised immersive audio, thus enabling practically viable high-quality experiences, for the benefit of audiences of the future and productivity and prosperity of associated UK industries.
